T H E   S T O R Y

Logline:  Over a 14-year period, a community of interconnected people learn the difficulties and importance of parenthood through tramatic events .
After a man abandon’s his child months before birth, he commits a crime that sends him away for 14 years. Upon returning to society, he redeems himself by servicing a low-income community mentoring under privileged youth as a summer league basketball coach. But through an unlikely series of events, tragedy strikes when his journey comes full circle. 

The Cycle of Violence is a cautionary tale focused on the importance of fatherhood and the ripple effects both positive and negative, it has within our culture. 
 
The narrative is a multigenerational, mosaic story that follows three different storylines told through a series of interconnected events.
 
Our goal is to entertain, educate and enlighten with a keen vision, using stark images to tell a powerful, influential story.

C H A R A C T E R    B R E A K D O W N

Ogi Hunter (Main Character)

Mid 30’s, deep, soulful eyes, lives through the pain of regret for abandoning his son before birth. He commits himself to the community as a basketball coach and mentor to under privileged youth.

Akeira (Main Character)

Just over 20, attractive, sensitive, fragile, mother to Lil Kane. Hope keeps her going as she search for love and happiness as a single parent. 

Lil Kane (Main Character)

Juvenile, fearless, neighborhood menace.  A kid in search of his identity, gets love and attention in the wrong places. Need a teen that can play a 13 yr old and 8 year old. (two age groups)

Ramon Diaz (Supporting)

Mid 30’s latino male, passionate, ego driven, former athletic star,  is just a shell of himself falls victim to the allure of the streets.  He's lives vicariously through his son, developing him in hopes to continue his legacy.

Ray-Ray (Ramon Diaz Jr.) 

Shy, athletic, charismatic teen basketball prodigy, the son of Ramon Diaz and Alexa. Determined, focused to succeed in life as though he has something to prove. Need a skilled latino baller or one that fits ethnicity.

Alexa

Early 30's, latino female, attractive, intelligent, single parent who made sacrifices to provide a better life for her family.
Kane 

Late 20’s male, a loner, edgy and aggressive. A career criminal who's hard knock life doesn't allow him to believe in dreams only reality. He finds a new source of hope through lil kane.
